The Wrangler 4xe includes a Max Regenerative Braking feature that returns even more power to the battery when slowing. Learn more about how it works here.
Regenerative braking is the greatest benefit of hybrid technology by rerouting power that would normally be lost back to the battery pack for later. The Wrangler 4xe includes a max region feature routing EVEN MORE power back to the battery pack. In fact it's going to feel like the vehicle is slowing down with the breaks during deceleration, and the vehicle will actually engage the brake light. Some people call this “one foot driving”. To engage or disengage the max region feature just push the button in the center dash and you'll see an icon jump up in the center cluster.
Let's say you're out and about and you have the opportunity charge for a couple of hours outside of your normally scheduled charging session. There's two ways you can do that.
There’s also a nifty little indicator on the dash with LEDs to show you that you're charging, and show you the battery level.
Let’s touch on how to set up a charging schedule within the uConnect hybrid electric pages. First you go to apps page and scroll to the hybrid electric pages. From there you go to charging schedule, click on the enable scheduled box. From there you can schedule weekdays and weekends on different times.
For example, during the weekday, you’d want to take advantage of off-peak hours. So you would set a weekday schedule to take advantage of off peak hours, like from 9pm-4am. Now you can utilize the time it takes to recharge with your driving history and the Eco-Coaching, to figure out how much time you need to charge on any particular day.
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe has pure electric operation, which means there's probably some sound you're not going to be quite familiar with in comparison to a combustion engine running in the background. Those noises are all normal! It's just the switches and relays in the vehicle trying to figure out the best way and most efficient way to propel it. When in Electric Mode the Jeep Wrangler 4xe it's not only quiet on the inside, but also very quiet on the outside. So among the not so familiar sounds, engineers created wushing sounds for a pedestrian warning. The vehicle emits the sound anytime it’s travelling between 0-24kph, no matter forward or reverse.
