How Much Can the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Tow?

The Jeep Grand Cherokee has long been one of its segment’s most luxurious and high-performing platforms. But, what can an owner really do with all of that performance? 2022 Grand Cherokee Engine Options

Jeep has provided the 2022 Grand Cherokee with three engine options, a 3.6-litre V-6 that is standard, as well as a 5.7-litre V-8 and a turbocharged, 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder. The latter is used to power the brand new Grand Cherokee 4xe hybrid variant. Each engine is able to offer plenty of performance and towing capability. Can the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hybrid tow?

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a more diverse range of engine options than any previous model year. Jeep is joining the hybrid vehicle class with the 4xe trims, currently available with the 2022 Grand Cherokee and Wrangler. The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle iteration of the Grand Cherokee will make up to 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque when the gasoline and electric motors are working together. When the 2022 Grand Cherokee 4xe is properly equipped, it will have a peak towing capacity of 2,722 kg (6,000 lbs.) – a high watermark for its segment. 

Finch Chrysler customers choosing versions of the 2022 Grand Cherokee with either gas-only engine option, will have a more streamlined path to top towing capacity scores. The V-6 engine can come with two- or four-wheel-drive drivetrains and both versions of the 2022 Grand Cherokee can tow up to 2,818 kg. All 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs with the V-8 engine will be able to pull up to 3,300 kg.
